So, early in our travels our friend, Larry, told us about a TV series called Yellowstone and said we really needed to watch it. We hadn’t gotten around to looking for it yet when my friend, Pete, learning we were in Montana, asked “Where’s Kevin Costner when you need him?” and asked if we’d been to Chief Joseph Ranch yet. I told him I’d never heard of that ranch. He too told us about the Yellowstone series and said we needed to see it. Hmm, this series must be good. Well, after traveling from Seeley Lake we arrived in the little town of Stevensville where we had arranged to boondock for a couple of nights. The hosts, Ben and Kay were, well . . . interesting. Ben also brought up Yellowstone, mentioning that he had been an extra in one of the episodes and that the ranch the show is filmed at is in the town of Darby about a half hour south of Stevensville. Well of course we now have to go check it out so the next day we loaded up the boys and headed to Darby.
The whole area from Stevensville to Darby is made up of large ranches and small towns with creeks here and there. It was very pretty.

We drove around Stevensville just to get a look at the area and we came across this! OMG!!

We didn’t tour the ranch because we would need to make an appointment but I was sooo excited to see alpacas! I miss our Lover Boy and Goofy so much. :-\
Somewhere along the way we stopped for lunch. The restaurant (I forget the name) had the cutest signs up all over. This one really cracked me up!! We had better mind our Ps and Qs!!

We finally found Chief Joseph Ranch. You can’t really make it out but the sign says “YELLOWSTONE DUTTON RANCH”. Apparently the show is a drama series about the Dutton family who owns Yellowstone Ranch but I think it’s actually supposed to be set in Bozeman. We couldn’t go into but we were able to take a pic by the entrance.

After we got back to the rig we found the series and have now watched the first three episodes. It’s pretty good although a little too graphic for me at times. We’ll keep watching but it sure doesn’t beat Blue Bloods! LOL.
To be continued . . .
