Phillipsburg – A Side Trip

July 7, 2021

When we were in Kalispell (Montana) we had planned to go to Glacier National Park but the whole park wasn’t open yet. They were still clearing snow. Since it could be a few weeks before it was open we decided we would take care of a bucket list item . . . Mt. Rushmore! We’ve always wanted to see it and now was our chance! We would have to make several stops (Seeley Lake was first) along the way so, from Stevensville, we headed first to Georgetown Lake. On the way there we stopped in the cute little town of Phillipsburg.

There we had lunch at The Silver Mill Restaurant

After lunch we toured the Montana Law Enforcement Museum.

I only took this pic inside the museum . . .

This brought tears to my eyes. Do you remember where you were on 9-11? I do.

Phillipsburg is an historical town like so many we’ve seen and had many charming and quaint structures, like the Kaiser House which is the oldest hotel in Phillipsburg.

And the candy store . . .

And the masonic temple . . .

And not just structures, but moving things too!

What a neat little town! In was a fun stop off on our way to Georgetown Lake.

To be continued . . .
