We’re still in Montana. We had found online what looked like a promising US Forest Service (USFS) campground and, what a find! This area is gorgeous!!!! It got prettier the closer we got to the campground. Please pardon the dirty windows in some of my pics. There’s no way to open a window (without a screen) in the “cockpit” of the rig and, since we’re 60 feet long, we can’t pull over just anywhere to jump out for a pic. So, I have to take them through the dirty window . . . ugh. But you can still see the beauty beyond right? 😉

We could not find the campground from what the GPS was telling us. Sorry Google, you’re not infallible! So we parked the rig, disconnected the car, asked some locals for directions and finally found it. We drove through the campground to see if there was a space that would fit our rig and, thankfully, there was! So we went back and got the rig, and this is our spot. Ahhhhhh . . .

Just a short walk from the campground was a day use area with boat launches. It’s heavily used by fishers and it was pretty full that first day.

After we got settled in we decided to enjoy a fire and a glass of wine. It was starting to get dark and the boys were on high alert for bears or other night prowlers!

There was still a little light in the sky and I looked at my phone and it was 10:00 pm!! Holy cow! We couldn’t believe there was still light in the sky! I guess the further north you go the longer the days. What a beautiful night sky eh?

The next day it started raining and continued 90% of the time for the rest of our stay (3 nights). No more fires for us here :-(. We still went out exploring the area by car during the day and found we really like this area!
To be continued . . .
