WARNING: THIS POST IS NOT FOR THE SQUEAMISH!
When we were back in Trout Creek (Montana) Larry got a big splinter in his thumb. He tried digging it out, soaking it out, etc. but it wouldn’t budge. So while in Athol it was pretty painful and appeared to be getting infected. So we decided to take him to the local urgent care. Well, it wasn’t like any urgent care we’d been to back home. There was almost nobody else there and he was in and out in less than an hour! Unheard of . . .
They had to numb the digit up really good, dig way down and this is what they pulled out.

Gives me shivers! Poor Larry. They sent him on his way with a bandaid and some antibiotics.

The thumb was quite a mess when we changed the bandaid.

The thumb is now healing up nicely and no longer bothers him except for the peeling skin.

Maybe next time he’ll wear gloves when handling fire wood 😉
To be continued . . .
