For the most part, life here at the Rancho California RV Resort (RCRVR) has been wonderful and just a tiny bit overwhelming. After a decade of living out in the country and being pretty isolated, living in a “neighborhood” where everyone is friendly, waves, stops to talk and pet the dogs, and are willing to help is a bit of a culture shock LOL. But a good one. We’ve met more neighbors in 6 weeks than we did in 10 years in Descanso! Although it’s like a small town where everybody knows everything about everybody, it has all been positive.
I say “for the most part” because we have experienced some extreme grief. Most of you who might read this blog already know that we lost our sweet Mr. Rex on Thanksgiving. He was such a wonderful companion. He was smart, funny, very loving and oh so cuddly!

He was fun and so expressive with his wrinkle nose and waggy tail. He was extremely sensitive too and loyal . . . so, so loyal.

Little Max tried to comfort him when he wasn’t feeling well.

It was heartbreaking to say goodbye to him. He brought so much joy and mirth to our lives. We’re so grateful he was able to be with us on our crazy adventure and that he got to experience all the new sites and smells. He was a trooper every step of the way. We all love and miss him so much.
