The move was hard! Not only because it was over 400 miles, but also because I was having issues with my back that prevented me from doing much of anything. Settling in would be a slow process.

The house itself was basically move-in ready. Thank God because we had two 24 foot cargo trailers full of stuff to deal with. As you can imagine, the place was a mess for awhile. This was just one room! Ugh.

However, we already had plans brewing to upgrade the second bath and remodel the master bath. The backyard, however, was an absolute mess!

That’s just part of the yard. Oh boy! That was going to need lots of work but, between the winter temps and my back problems, it would have to wait.

So, we embarked on getting the house set up and decorated, making it our own and it has been a work in progress ever since. What’s really cool is that we had pictures, art and even papyrus from Egypt (where we honeymooned in 2000) in storage for years that we now had room to display! So happy to finally see those things on our walls!
