Pardon Our Dust

June 7, 2021

Two towns we were really looking forward to seeing in Washington are Colville and Kettle Falls, which are less than 10 miles apart. We had found what we thought was a promising campground that was on the way. We were super excited when we saw the Columbia River close by and thought this campground could be a place to stay for a few days.

Boy, were we disappointed 😦 . We ended up driving for miles on a gravel road to get to the campground entrance only to find out that it was too overgrown for us to navigate the rig in. We talked to a ranger type guy who was no help at all at suggesting another nearby campground so we just decided to go back and watch for something else. To make matters worse, the road was dry and this is what the back of the rig and the car looked like . . . and we had to drive the same road again!!

UGH. By the time we finally exited the gravel road it was even worse, if you can imagine that. Oh well, part of the adventure right? At least we had beautiful views of the beautiful Columbia on the way!

To be continued . . .
