May 10 – We stayed last night at a KOA campground near Hurricane, Utah. I drove about 60 miles of the trip there! Just sayin ;-D. We then headed toward Zion National Park. We’ve been there before but we hadn’t seen the Kolob Canyons which is in the northwest section of the park. Since we have a senior park pass we didn’t have to pay. Woohoo! So, we transferred the boys from the coach to the car and did the five mile drive.
If you haven’t been to Zion, you need to go. The Canyons were more of the same and just as spectacular! The beauty brought me to tears and the majesty left me in awe.

After being sufficiently humbled we headed north again. I drove another 60 or 70 miles but got drowsy and had to take a cat nap. On boondocking.org we found a place near Payson, Utah that looked interesting. After leaving the highway the road was paved but VERY curvy with lots of switchbacks. Larry handled it like a champ! We finally found the spot and parked. What a beautiful place. Primitive and full of pines and aspens. We were there for the night, completely by ourselves and with absolutely no cell signal. Talk about being off the grid!

Rex loves snooping around wherever we go. Max is still figuring it all out. He has been on pain medication because of issues with his back and an injury to his knee. He became constipated and after 3 days I was getting really concerned so I fed him canned pumpkin two days in a row and, finally, on the 5th day it worked! He’s been fine since and doing his business regularly.Thank Goodness!

To be continued . . .
