Still in Washington here. Ione is the tiniest little town. Seriously, if you closed your eyes for 2 seconds you would miss it. We reserved a couple of nights at the Cedar RV Park, which is probably the biggest gig in town LOL. We were glad they had a space available because they also have on-site . . . . . . . . wait for it . . . . . . . . . . . . . a CAR WASH, with a big bay for RVs!!!!! WOOHOO!! We could finally get the rig and the Explorer cleaned up, and that’s the first thing we did when we arrived. AHHHH . . . It was a fabulous amenity in my opinion ;-D
Nearby there was this really interesting bridge we crossed several times. It looks so bold amidst the trees doesn’t it. Personally, I think it looks pretty cool. Larry says it’s orange, I say red. What say you?

There was a little foresty part of the park that was down below the RV spaces where we could take the boys off the leash. They really liked that (sorry, forgot to get a pic). The first night we ended up hanging out for a bit with another RV couple who are staying there and are apparently related to the owners. The boys were all worn out I guess, or maybe just bored because we didn’t have any food to offer them.

Next day we took a drive to nearby Metaline Falls thinking we would see some beautiful waterfalls. NOT! The area was gorgeous but we only saw one tiny fall. However, we did find this old dam called Mill Pond. It’s not a dam anymore and the story we got from a local guy who was there is that, because the dam (which had been under the bridge) was no longer generating electricity, they decided to demolish it, for environmental reasons. In doing so, according to the guy, they damaged the environment more than helped it. What a shame. Nonetheless, it was still a pretty area. I was hoping to see some wildlife at the water but, no.

Then we continued on to explore the area around Lake Sullivan, which was very pretty!

That night we had rain and thunder. Ahhh, I love me a good thunderstorm!! 😀
To be continued . . .
