While in Rapid City we visited the Museum of Geology. 

Unfortunately I didn’t get many pics inside because I was so engrossed with the fossils and such. There was tons of information about dinosaurs, minerals and rocks, etc. Here’s some bits of interesting info.

I bet you feel smarter now don’t you? HAHAHA! A lot of the stuff went right over my head but it was still very, very interesting.

I happen to love Agate and so I had to get a picture of all these Agate stones. Beautiful aren’t they?

After we left the museum we came across Bear Country USA which is a drive-thru wildlife museum. Each section has a different group of animals and so you see them in what is similar to their natural habitat, albeit smaller, the difference being that they are fed and cared for by the staff rather than hunting or foraging on their own.

First there were Elk . . .

Then Reindeer . . . Yes, they really do exist ;-D

A cougar . . .

Big Horn Sheep . . .

Bison . . .

And, of course . . . Bears!!
